Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

In short

  • There’s no FamBrief account, and your plans are stored on your phone. FamBrief doesn’t sync them or back them up to a cloud.
  • When you add a message, photo, screenshot or PDF, it’s sent securely to FamBrief’s server and to our AI provider, OpenAI, to find the details. FamBrief’s server doesn’t keep it.
  • Photos and screenshots are sent without their location, camera and date details.
  • FamBrief’s server keeps a random installation ID (your Privacy ID), your subscription status, import records and usage statistics, never your messages or plans. You can turn usage statistics off in Settings.
  • This website uses Google Analytics. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it runs only if you allow it.
  • We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

FamBrief is provided by XNest LLC (“we”, “us”), 1000 Brickell Ave, Ste 715 #5214, Miami, FL 33131, United States. XNest LLC is responsible for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@fambrief.app.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the FamBrief apps for iPhone and Android and this website, fambrief.app. Apple, Google and the other apps you share messages from have their own privacy policies. Our Cookie and Analytics Notice gives more detail about this website’s analytics.

3. The FamBrief app

No account, and your Privacy ID

You don’t create an account, and FamBrief doesn’t ask for your name, email address or phone number. The first time you open FamBrief, it creates a random installation ID and keeps it in your phone’s secure storage. The app sends this ID with its requests so FamBrief can apply import limits and your subscription. FamBrief doesn’t use your phone’s advertising ID and doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

FamBrief shows this ID in Settings as your Privacy ID. It identifies this installation of FamBrief and its records on FamBrief’s server. It isn’t an account and doesn’t say who you are. If you delete and reinstall the app, it creates a new ID. On iPhone, the ID is stored so that it stays on that phone and isn’t carried to another device in a backup.

What stays on your phone

Your plans are stored in the app on your phone. That includes the people you add (a name, and whether each is a child, an adult or Family), plans with their dates, times, places and preparation items, short quotes from your messages that show where each detail came from, and, for PDFs, the file name. Your reminder settings and your usage statistics choice are stored there too.

FamBrief has no cloud backup or sync of its own. On Android, FamBrief turns off Android backup and device-to-device transfer for its data. On iPhone, FamBrief keeps its data in a private folder that it marks to be left out of iCloud and computer backups. Deleting the app deletes the data stored in it on that phone.

Messages you add and AI processing

FamBrief reads only what you choose to add. The first time, it explains how and asks before continuing. It then sends the message text, photo, screenshot or PDF over an encrypted connection to FamBrief’s server, which sends it to OpenAI to find dates, tasks and requirements. For a PDF, the file name is sent too. So that words like “tomorrow” can be understood, the request also includes your phone’s current date and time, time zone offset and language setting, but not your installation ID. FamBrief may ask OpenAI a second time to double-check the dates in the same message. The result comes back to your phone, and nothing is saved until you check it and confirm.

Before a photo or screenshot leaves your phone, FamBrief makes a new copy of the picture without the extra details stored in the image file, such as location, camera, and the date and time it was taken, and sends it under a generic file name. If a picture can’t be prepared this way, FamBrief doesn’t send it. PDFs are sent as you chose them, including any details stored inside the file.

FamBrief’s server handles the message only while processing the request. It doesn’t store the message or file, write it to its logs, or keep the result. On your phone, FamBrief doesn’t save the original photo, PDF or message text with your plans, and it deletes the temporary copies the photo and file pickers make once they’ve been read.

FamBrief asks OpenAI not to store these requests for later use (the OpenAI API’s “store” setting is off), and OpenAI doesn’t use them to train its models. That isn’t zero data retention: under its API terms, OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days to detect and prevent abuse, and then deletes them unless the law requires otherwise.

Checking for updates to saved plans

To check whether a new message changes a plan you already saved, FamBrief sends a short summary of the matching saved plans: their title, date and time, place, preparation items, and the person’s name and type, together with the details and short quotes found in the new message. Earlier messages and files are not sent again. The summary is handled like a message you add: FamBrief’s server uses it for the check and doesn’t keep it, and OpenAI’s terms above apply. Whether you apply a change is recorded only on your phone.

What FamBrief’s server keeps

  • Your installation ID, and when it was first and last seen.
  • Your subscription status: whether Pro is active, the product, and when it ends, as reported by our subscription provider.
  • A record of each AI import (when it happened and whether it counted), used to apply limits over 30 days.
  • Records of subscription events received from our subscription provider, used to avoid processing the same event twice.
  • Usage statistics, described below.

It doesn’t store your messages, files, plans, people’s names, places or file names. Network addresses are used briefly, in memory, to limit abusive traffic, and aren’t stored by FamBrief. Server logs record technical events, such as errors, and never include your messages or plans; where an installation needs to be told apart in a log, only a shortened one-way code derived from its ID is written, never the ID itself.

Usage statistics

The app sends limited usage statistics to FamBrief’s server, such as which features are used and whether imports work, along with the app version, the platform, a session ID, the date on your phone and your installation ID. Because they’re linked to that random ID, they’re pseudonymous rather than anonymous. They use fixed values only and never include your messages, plans, names or places. We use them only to understand and improve FamBrief. They aren’t used for advertising or tracking across apps, and aren’t shared with analytics or advertising companies.

Usage statistics are on unless you turn them off. To turn them off, open Settings in FamBrief and turn off Help improve FamBrief. The app then stops sending them and discards any it hasn’t sent yet. This doesn’t affect the messages you add or your subscription.

Subscriptions and purchases

FamBrief Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play, which process your payment under their own terms. FamBrief never sees your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions: RevenueCat receives your installation ID and purchase information from Apple or Google, along with technical details its software collects to process purchases, such as your device type and operating system, and tells FamBrief’s server whether Pro is active, the product and when it ends.

Reminders and notifications

Evening reminders are scheduled on your phone. FamBrief doesn’t use a push notification service. Notifications say “You have something to get ready for tomorrow” and don’t show plan details.

Permissions

  • Camera: only when you choose Take a photo.
  • Photos and files: only the photo, screenshot or PDF you choose.
  • Notifications: asked for only when you turn on reminders.

FamBrief doesn’t access your contacts, calendar, location or microphone.

Contacting support

If you email support@fambrief.app, we use your email address and message to reply. Contact support in Settings starts an email that includes your Privacy ID, the app version and your platform, and nothing else from the app.

4. This website

fambrief.app is hosted on Microsoft Azure, which processes network information such as your IP address, browser details and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use this website, such as which pages are visited. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and wherever we can’t tell where you are, Google Analytics runs only if you choose Allow analytics. Elsewhere it runs without asking, and you can turn it off at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of each page. To know whether to ask, your browser looks up your country with ipwho.is, or with FreeIPAPI if that fails.

Website analytics isn’t used for advertising: advertising storage and ad personalization stay off, and Google signals is turned off. The website doesn’t send Google Analytics your name or anything from the FamBrief app, and it’s separate from the app’s usage statistics. Our Cookie and Analytics Notice explains the cookies, the country lookup, how your choice is stored and how to change it.

5. Service providers

We use these providers to run FamBrief. They process information on our behalf, or under their own terms where noted, and only as needed for the purposes below.

  • Microsoft Azure: hosts FamBrief’s server, its database and this website.
  • OpenAI: reads the messages you add and the update-check summaries described above.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscriptions.
  • Apple and Google: distribute the app and process purchases, under their own terms.
  • Google: Google Analytics, to understand how this website is used.
  • ipwho.is and FreeIPAPI: tell this website which country you’re visiting from, so it knows whether to ask before analytics runs.
  • Cloudflare: forwards email sent to support@fambrief.app to our support inbox.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or FamBrief from harm, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to it.

6. Where information is processed

FamBrief’s server and database run in Microsoft Azure’s Central US region, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you use FamBrief or this website from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the transfer safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

7. How long information is kept

  • On your phone: until you delete the app.
  • Messages, files and update-check summaries: not kept by FamBrief’s server after processing. OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days, as described above.
  • Usage statistics: deleted after 90 days.
  • Import records and subscription event records: deleted after 90 days.
  • Installation ID and subscription status: deleted 13 months after the app last contacted FamBrief’s server, together with any import records and usage statistics still linked to that installation. If you open the app again after that, it registers again.
  • Backups and logs: backups of FamBrief’s database may hold deleted records until they expire, normally within 7 days, and server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Purchase records: RevenueCat, Apple and Google keep purchase records under their own terms. We can ask RevenueCat to delete its record of your installation (section 11).
  • Support emails: kept for up to 24 months after your question is resolved.
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics keeps event data for no longer than 14 months. Its cookies last up to 180 days after your last visit, and your consent choice about 180 days.

8. Security

Connections between the app, FamBrief’s server and our providers are encrypted, and the installation ID is kept in your phone’s secure storage. Access to FamBrief’s server, its database and its secrets is restricted. Because your plans stay on your phone, keeping your phone locked protects them too. No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security.

9. Children and family information

FamBrief is for adults, such as parents and caregivers. It isn’t directed to children, and children don’t use it or have accounts. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. You may add a child’s name and mark a plan as being for a child. That stays on your phone, except in the update checks described above. Messages you add may contain children’s names and other details, which are processed as described in this policy. If you believe a child has used FamBrief, contact us.

10. What FamBrief isn’t for

FamBrief is for everyday family logistics, such as school notices, activities and family appointments. It isn’t meant for medical records, diagnoses or treatment details, legal case files, financial records or other highly sensitive records. Please don’t add messages whose main purpose is to share that kind of information. Ordinary details such as an appointment’s time, place and what to bring are fine.

11. Your choices and requests

  • FamBrief reads only the messages you choose to add.
  • Turn evening reminders on or off at any time in Settings.
  • Turn usage statistics off or on at any time with Help improve FamBrief in Settings.
  • Allow or reject website analytics at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of each page.
  • Delete the app to delete the data stored in it on your phone.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription with Apple or Google.

You can ask us for a copy of the records FamBrief’s server holds about your installation, or ask us to delete them. Email support@fambrief.app and include the Privacy ID from Settings, because that ID is the only way to find the records: Contact support in Settings starts an email with it. When we delete an installation’s records, we also ask RevenueCat to delete its record of that installation. Deleting records doesn’t cancel a subscription, so cancel Pro with Apple or Google first. If you keep using the app, it will create new records.

We can’t see or delete what’s stored on your phone; deleting the app does that. If you’ve already deleted the app, its Privacy ID is gone too, and the installation’s server records are deleted automatically 13 months after it was last seen. We aim to reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, such as the right to complain to a data protection authority; contact us and we’ll help.

12. Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already have, we’ll also say so in the app or on this website before it takes effect.
